Brian Gerrard started his career in finance, then moved into strategy consulting roles at the NBA and Nielsen. He launched Nielsen’s on-site consulting division, supporting clients such as CBS and NBC as they transitioned their content businesses onto mobile.
In 2014 he founded Bae, a social app for Black Millennials and as CEO grew it to a top 50 app in 20 countries. They were acquired by if(we) last year and Brian joined the company to lead Product growth and Innovation. In his first 6 months at the if(we), he built out the company’s marketing practice and launched 2 new products. As a direct result, If(we) was acquired by The Meet Group NASDAQ:MEET in April 2017.
Brian’s recent accolades include 2016 BET Black History Maker, 2015 Black Enterprise BE Modern Man and a 2015 TechStars Rising Star. He has appeared in publications such as TIME, TechCrunch, Inc. Mag, and Fast Co. and has spoken at F8 (Facebook’s annual conference), The United Nations, Yale University and Google.
Originally from New Jersey, Brian graduated from The University of Virginia with distinction and honors and is a Teach for America alum.
